So here we are met with this little girl.
She’s dressed in her attire of sorrow holding her umbrella tight.
She’s standing smack dab in the middle of a world of confusion and anger.
No rain falls, yet she holds her umbrella.
She needs more than anything for something to hold onto.
The day my life changed and I looked up into the sky.
8 1/2 years later and the song still makes me cry.
So, so you think you can tell heaven from hell, blue skies from pain.
Can you tell a green field from a cold steel rail? A smile from a veil,
Do you think you can tell?
And did they get you to trade your heroes for ghosts? Hot ashes for trees?
Hot air for cool breeze? Cold comfort for change?
And did you exchange a walk on part in the war for a lead-role in a cage?
How I wish, How I wish you were here.
We’re just two lost souls swimming in a fish bowl, year after year.
Running over the same ground. What have we found? The same old fears.
Wish you were here.
Wow, this is beautiful. I really liked the poem. I liked the feel of how the words went together. The feel of the meaning was sad. Was it about someone specific? If so I think I know who buuuut, don't want to assume.
and the "poem" is Wish You Were Here by Pink Floyd {song}
and it was actually a song we used to listen to way before she got real sick so... yeah it really means a lot to me when i hear this song!

We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
